As 9th ranked Duke is continuing Blue Devil Challenge tonight in Durham Duke is opposing La Salle.

Duke has opposed La Salle before as the teams previously played on January 8, 1983 when then Duke who was coached by former Duke Head Coach Mike Krzyzewski knocked off La Salle 61-60 on January 8, 1983 when then Johnny Dawkins who was then a freshman a guard who is now the Head Coach Of University Of Central Florida scored 18. 1 points collected 4.1 rebounds, dished out 8 assists. Duke comes into the second game of the Blue Devil Challenge with La Salle with record of 3-1 because on Friday November 17, 2023 then 9th ranked Duke now beat Bucknell in the inaugural game of The Blue Devil Challenge 90-60.

Kyle Filipowski 3-4 on field goals 0-1 on 3 pointers to go along with 6 rebounds, 1 assists , 2 steals, 10 points. Though, Kyle Filipowski’s night didn’t come without an injury scare in the 1st half with 4:04 left as Kyle Filipowski rolled his right ankle during an offensive possession for Duke.

The good news?

Kyle Filipowski returned for Duke when the 2nd half of the game began against Bucknell.

Mark Mitchell was 8-13 on field goals 1-3 on 3 pointers to go along 6 rebounds, 2 assists , 1 block 20 points.

Jared McCain was 5-8 on field goals 5-7 on 3 pointers to go along with 10 rebounds, 2 assists , 17 points.

Tyrese Proctor was 5-8 on field goals like his teammate fellow guard Jared McCain though unlike Jared McCain Tyrese Proctor was 3-6 on 3 pointers to go along with 3 rebounds, 4 assists , 1 steal, 13 points.

Jeremy Roach was 3-5 on field goals 2-3 on 3 pointers to go along with 1 steal , 9 points.

Following Duke beating Bucknell 90-60 Friday in Durham Duke Head Coach Jon Scheyer had this to say about Kyle Filipowski!

“He’s not a guy that usually stays down,“so when that happens you’re thinking for the game, of course, then also you don’t know if it’s long term or whatever it is. I’m just thankful he’s okay.”

I don’t need to tell you guys he’s a big part of what we do and a big focal point,”

“I’m just happy he’s okay though.”

La Salle comes into the Blue Devil Challenge with Duke with record of 4-0 because unlike Duke they’ve won every game they have played including their previous game on Saturday by knocking off Southern Indiana in Philadelphia Pennsylvania 79-78.

As La Salle knocked off Southern Indiana 79-78 Rockas Jocius was 4-9 on field goals to go along 4 rebounds , 9 points. Daeshon Shepard was 7-11 on field goals 3-5 on 3 pointers to go along with 17 points. Khalil Brantley was 10-16 on field goals was 3-6 on 3 pointers to go along with 5 rebounds, 2 assists , 30 points . Jhamir Brickus was 2-6 on field goals, 0-2 on 3 pointers to go along 1 rebound, 5 assists , 5 points. Anwar Gill was 3-10 on field goals, 1-2 on 3 pointers to go along 1 rebound, 6 assists , 1 steal , 9 points. Ryan Zan was 0-0 on field goals, 3 pointers to go along 1 rebound, 1 block. Following La Salle’s 79-78 win La Salle Head Coach Fran Dunphy had this to say!

"Obviously a real good win for us. I don't think it was an artistic success but a real good win. Our defense has to improve, we have to get better, that being said I thought Southern Indiana played well and they did what they needed to do, they made shots at difficult times, but our defense has to improve."
