Max McCaffery
Max McCaffery was a wide receiver for Duke from 2012-2015. After he graduated he tried out for the Denver Broncos his dad's former team. Ed McCaffery played thirteen seasons in the NFL and was with the Broncos from 1995-2003. Did Max really want to put on the same uniform that his dad wore for nine seasons ? According to an article on espn.com "Max McCaffrey Broncos Ed hopes to make a name for himself" I believe that he didn't want to be compared to his football playing father. Today in sports there are players that play the same professional sport in the same league as their parents.
For Example , Archie Manning who is Peyton Manning and Eli Manning father played sixteen seasons in the NFL from 1971-1982 he played for the New Orleans Saints till he finished up his career with the Tennessee Titans in 1982-83 and in 1983-84 he played for the Minnisota Vikings. Whatever team they were playing for he always supported them. I am sure he is excited to route for Eli and the New York Giants this fall!
Don't try to be someone you're not . Fans may compare you to your parents who were professional athletes in the same league but all players play a different way , another player may be better then you at one thing and you might be better at another but there is always room for improvement.
Duke Nation wishes you the best of luck as you start your professional career with the Oakland Raiders Max !
