New Year, No Peyton Manning

A year ago Peyton Manning   finished up his eighteen year career in the National Football League winning Superbowl fifty.  As the 2016 season kicks-off this weekend the guy who wore number eighteen and called out the word Omaha at the line of scrimmage will not be a quarterback in the league so lets take a look at his extraordinary career and super bowl wins.

He was drafted in 1998 as the first overall pick by the Indianapolis Colts "according to  http://www.nfl.com/draft/history/fulldraft?season=1998 and he played thirteen seasons in Indianapolis before getting let go and then going to play for the Denver Broncos from 2012-2015 "according to http://www.nfl.com/player/peytonmanning/2501863/careerstats

Peyton Manning won his first Super Bowl in 2007 in Superbowl forty one with the Indianapolis Colts against the Chicago Bears. In that game he was 25/38 for 247 yards to go along with one touchdown and one interception. "according to  http://www.espn.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=27020400

In 2016 Peyton Manning won his second Super Bowl against Cam Newton and the Panthers by a score 24-10 "according to an article by Will Brinsonhttp://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/peyton-mannings-super-bowl-stats-are-really-close-to-another-great-qb/

What a great way to cap off your eighteen years in the league but one thing is for sure this year will be different because the sheriff will not be on field in uniform and leading the offense. Thank you Peyton for eighteen wonderful years of joy and passion you have brought to the game and to fans around the country and around the world who watched you play.
