New York Opens Up The Regular Season With Jacksonville

Every year when the regular season kicks-off New York always opens it up by visiting their National Football Conference East  rival Dallas. 

This year however, that  is not the case as New York will open up the 2018 season by hosting Jacksonville on Sunday who is a member of the  American Football Conference . "according to http://www.espn.com/nfl/standings

Last season the New York Giants finished with a record of 3-13 "according to  http://www.espn.com/nfl/team/schedule/_/name/nyg/year/2017 their head coach Ben McAdoo was fired and New York now has a new head coach in Pat Shurmur who spent the last two seasons with Minnesota while he spent the last twenty seven games as their offensive coordinator. This is the second head coaching assignment for Shurmur, who led the Cleveland Browns from 2011-12. Shurmur has been a part of teams that have qualified for nine postseason berths, won seven division titles, and advanced to one Super Bowl (he was on the Eagles’ staff when they played in Super Bowl XXXIX vs. New England to cap the 2004 season). As for Jacksonville, they finished last season with a record of 10-6.
