#23 NC State To Host Boston College Before Their Bye Week

After opening up their Atlantic Coast Conference slate at home against Virginia last weekend NC State who is ranked 23rd in this weeks AP 25 poll “according to https://collegefootball.ap.org/poll will host Boston College on Saturday before their bye week.

As for NC State’s conference opener, they topped Virginia last Saturday at Carter Finley Stadium.

NC State opened ACC play 1-0 for the third straight season, with a 35-21 win over Virginia at Carter-Finley Stadium. Holding a 10-7 lead, NC State upped its lead to 10 points in the middle of the second quarter, after the Pack converted a 9-play, 80-yard drive with a Ryan Finley to Cary Angeline 14-yd TD pass. The Owls extended their lead - 21-13 - with 6:46 to play in the first half but the Eagles manufactured two turnovers and two touchdowns to take control.  A Hamp Cheevers interception of Temple's Anthony Russo with 5:07 set up a three-play, 55-yard scoring drive. Taj-Amir Torres notched his first interception of the season with 3:31 left, picking off a Russo pass and returning it 29 yards to the Temple nine-yard line.  Dillon's second TD rush of the game from two yards out gave the Eagles a 28-21 lead with just under three minutes left. Boston College's opening drive to start the second half saw Dillon and Kobay White leave the field due to injury and ended with a bad snap on a punt deep in Eagles' territory.  But Zach Allen's strip sack of Temple QB Russo set up another scoring drive for BC. The Eagles took a 38-21 lead as Anthony Brown and Jeff Smith connected for a nine-yard TD strike.  But it was Smith who found Brown after a double-reverse reversed the roles of the wideout and signal caller with 9:22 left. Armstead scored his fourth TD of the game with 9:02 left in the game, capping a 14-play, 83-yard drive, getting Temple within three at 38-35. BC sealed the victory with a touchdown with 3:11 to play.  Glines' one-yard push into the endzone on 4th-and-goal extended the Eagles' lead to 45-35.   • Ben Glines filled in as the Eagles' primary running back in the second half.  He finished the game with 23 carries for 120 yards and a touchdown.
