NC State Drops Their Second Straight As They Get Beat By Wake Forest In Winston Salem

After losing to Boston College, a bye week NC State returned to action in Winston Salem against twenty third ranked Wake Forest on Saturday and lost again.

Newman surpassed 2,000 yards passing on the season becoming the first Deacon quarterback to hit that mark in seven games. He completed 25 passes for 287 yards with 30 rushing yards. On the ensuing kickoff, DeAndre' Delaney forced an NC State fumble on the Wolfpack's 3-yard line. The Deacons followed with a 5-yard touchdown pass from Newman to Freudenthal as Wake Forest took a 14-0 lead.
