Are Patrick Mahomes And Josh Allen Going To Be Matching Up Again As Kansas City Host Buffalo For Rematch With A Trip To Super Bowl LV On The Line?

During the regular season Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen matched up!

When?

On Monday October 19, 2021!

Where?

In Buffalo New York where Kansas City defeated Buffalo by a score of 26-17!

Why?

Because of their rushing game where Kansas City had a total of 245 yards on the ground their most since the 2012 season – and made some clutch plays late. “according to an article by Matt McMullen on chiefs.com.

While Buffalo meanwhile lost the regular match up between the two teams!

Why?

Because Buffalo’s defense gave up 466 yards! “according to an article by Dante Lasting on buffalobills.com”

Tonight the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills are matching up again!

This time in the AFC Championship where the winner is going to advance to Super Bowl LV in Tampa Bay Florida at Raymond James Stadium that is home to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers!

But will Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen be matching up again?

The answer is yes!

Why?

Because Patrick Mahomes said recently that he is out of the concussion protocol and cleared to play in Sunday's NFC Championship Game! “according to an article by Adam Teicher on espn.com

During Patrick Mahomes absence on Sunday January 17, 2021 in the Divisional Round of the playoffs Kansas City  managed to hold off a Browns' rally and win their fourth-straight postseason game.

Leading by five points and facing a 3rd-and-14 in their own territory with just two minutes remaining in the game, backup quarterback Chad Henne scrambled for a 13-yard gain to set up a critical decision at midfield. The Chiefs could punt and give Cleveland an opportunity to win the game, or Kansas City could attempt to end the game right then and there.

Kansas City added a 50-yard field goal a drive later after forcing a Browns' punt, but Cleveland looked to be in the end zone on their ensuing series when wide receiver Rashard Higgins hauled in a 25-yard grab and stretched for the pylon. Chiefs' safety Dan Sorensen made sure to defend every blade of grass, however, hitting Higgins just shy of the goal line to knock the ball free and through the end zone, flipping possession back to Kansas City.

Cleveland didn't go away though, as Mayfield found wide receiver Jarvis Landry for a 4-yard score early in the third quarter to pull within nine points. The Chiefs then lost Mahomes on their ensuing possession, as the reigning Super Bowl MVP was taken to the locker room to be evaluated for a concussion following a 1-yard rush.

Facing a 4th-and-1 at midfield and with Henne now in under center, the Chiefs' decision to go for it paid off when tailback Darrel Williams took a pitch for a 12-yard gain to move the chains. Williams broke free for a 16-yard rush a snap later, eventually setting up a 33-yard field goal to extend the Chiefs' lead. according to an article by Matt McMullen on chiefs.com

If Patrick Mahomes can’t play Chad Henne who is Patrick Mahoms backup is going to start. Mahomes is out. But with or without Mahomes, the Chiefs' run game will be something to keep an eye on. Kansas City rushed for a season-high 245 yards against Buffalo in Week 6, when the Bills played their safeties deep on many snaps and were determined not to let Tyreek Hill and other receivers beat them deep. They will certainly change strategies this time, but at what cost? The Chiefs got just one pass play of more than 22 yards against the Bills the last time around. Can the Bills effectively slow the Chiefs' running game while still limiting the number of big pass plays? -- Adam Teicher “according to an article by the ESPN Staff on espn.com
