NC State, Boston College Were On Opposite Ends Of The Spectrum In Chestnut Hill Massachusetts Coming Off Their Bye Weeks!

NC State, Boston College were on opposite ends of the spectrum in Chestnut Hill Massachusetts coming over their bye weeks!

Because NC State who is ranked 22nd won by a score of 33-7!

In NC State’s 33-7 win over Boston College A 21-point third quarter led the visiting #22 Wolfpack (5-1, 2-0 ACC) to a 33-7 win at Boston College. The Pack has now won four straight, and opens ACC action 2-0.

With the Pack up 10-7 at the half, NC State outscored the Eagles 23-7 in second half.

Both teams scored on their first offensive possession, as the game was tied 7-7 after the first quarter. NC State went 75 yards in just five plays, capped by a Devin Leary to Devin Carter 40-yard TD pass on third down. BC responded, going 75 yards on 10 plays. The score line held till late in the first half, as Christopher Dunn hit a 27-yard field goal on the final play of the half to give the Pack a 10-7 halftime lead. The drive was a 16-play drive that took up the final 6:05 of the quarter.

Three touchdowns in the third quarter padded NC State’s lead.

Boston College lined up to punt, but a fumble on the play was recovered by Devan Boykin and returned 34 yards for a touchdown. The Pack offense then took their next drive in for a TD, capped by Leary finding TE Dylan Parham from four yards out. The third was a long catch-and-run, and Leary found Thayer Thomas for a 79-yard score. That long TD gave the Pack a 31-7 lead with 4:23 left in the third quarter.

Boston College lost by a score of 7-33!

In Boston College’s loss to NC State Dennis Grosel completed 21 of 39 passes for 194 yards for the Eagles (4-2, 0-2). They have lost back-to-back games against ranked teams since opening the season with four straight wins.

Grosel connected with Trae Barry on the Eagles' first possession for an 8-yard touchdown - BC's only score of the game. Christopher Dunn kicked a 27-yard field goal at the end of the first half to give N.C. State a 10-7 lead.

Boston College had possession to start the second half, but the drive stalled at their own 42. When Carlson went to punt, he dropped the ball and Boykin scooped it up for the score that made it 17-7.BC drove for what appeared to be another score when Barry grabbed a 14-yard pass from Grosel in the end zone. But as he came down, cornerback Shyheim Battle knocked the ball loose.Even as the referees signaled that it was incomplete, the celebratory fireworks went off anywayConnor Lytton followed by kicking a 32-yard field goal attempt wide to the left.
