Tyler Santucci is replacing Robb Smith who in Mike Elko’s inaugural season as Duke Football Head Coach in 2022 was his Defensive Coordinator because Robb Smith departed his position as Mike Elko’s Defensive Coordinator because of personal reasons as Robb Smith, Mike Elko talked about wanting to get back closer to his family in Minnesota. In the end this was just the right time for him . We appreciate Robb’s commitment to our program over the past season and wish him the best moving forward.

Mike Elko, Tyler Santucci are familiar with one another because they worked with one another at Notre Dame, Texas A& M, Wake Forest.

Most recently at Texas A&M in 2020, 2021 before Director Of Athletics Nina King, Duke hired Mike Elko as their new Head Coach on December 10, 2021.

Following being hired as Duke Head Coach Mike Elko’s new Defensive Coordinator Tyler Santucci shared his thoughts by saying My family and I are grateful for the opportunity to join this prestigious university and football program here at Duke," Santucci said.
