Following Duke improving to 4-0 with 41-7 rout of Uconn Duke Head Coach Mike Elko had this to say about the defense, offense was the best performance by Duke’s defense in his tenure with the Blue Devils that his team suffocated Uconn. That was we felt was going to be key . Our defensive line’s ability to create penetration and get them behind the chains. We were able to do that and then make , kind of a young quarterback who hadn’t played a lot of football execute on third down and long situations. Aneas Peebles was credited with 1.5 sacks following that he had this to say following Duke improving to 4-0 with 41-7 rout of Uconn Saturday . Coming into the game we thought our advantage a little bit was in the throw game . And so we knew that was going to be apart of it . Again I would like to have run the ball a little bit more then we were able to to do the things we needed to do throwing the football , to have success we need to have.

According to Stephen Wiseman’s article on News & Observer .com

Duke is now going to prepare to host Notre Dame who is a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference except on the gridiron who Duke Head Coach Mike Elko was the Defensive Coordinator for in 2017 before going to Texas A&M where he was Defensive Coordinator from 2018 -2021 before becoming Duke Head Coach in 2022.
