Greg Bird Goes Deep For New York

Mark Teixeira is now retired and a  season ago first baseman Greg Bird couldn't even show his potential because of having shoulder surgery for a torn labrum.  

In 2017 Greg Bird is getting his chance to show his potential as he has already homered twice in spring training for the New York Yankees in their 5-4 win over the Red Sox Tuesday. 

New York had The Yankees had No. 14 prospect Chance Adams and No. 6 prospect Justus Sheffield on display in the bullpen as Chance Adams gave New York two scoreless innings while Sheffield worked around the homer by Travis and struck out two in 1 2/3 innings. Will Greg Bird hit two home runs against Atlanta?

New York will play their first night game at George M. Steinbrenner field Wednesday as they take on Atlanta at 6:35 pm. Right-hander Bryan Mitchell is making his second  Grape Fruit League start for New York. Atlanta will send left -hander Jamie Garcia to the mound.
