Rookie Jordan Montgomery Making His First Start Against Kansas City As New York Goes For The Sweep

As rookie Jordan Montgomery has done all year he will be making his first start against a team this time in Missouri as New York goes for the sweep as they take on Kansas City. 

New York is coming off an 11-7 win over Kansas City Wednesday where  Michael Pineda who has a record of 4-2, he allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out five over six innings. Meanwhile, New York had piled up 10 runs by the fifth inning, allowing Pineda to cruise to an easy victory despite throwing only 57 of his 98 pitches for strikes. The 28-year-old righty has now provided three straight quality starts, although he needed a couple of errors from Chase Headley to get there Wednesday, and his 55:8 K: BB in 47.1 innings on the season remains elite. The rookie left-hander lost to Houston in his previous outing despite walking a career low one batter to go along with seven strikeouts. He has a record of 2-2 with a 4.19 earn run average to go along with thirty -three strikeouts.  He will  take on Kansas City left  -hander Danny Duffy who has a record 2-3 with a 3.38 earn run average and thirty-five strikeouts.
