Derek Jeter

Everyone who is a fan of baseball should remember this name . The captain Derek Jeter .The greatest shortstop to ever play the game. His career started in 1995 and ended in 2014. 

During his time as a member of the New York Yankees "according to baseball reference.com" he had 1195 at bats , he scored 1923 runs , he had 3465 hits , 260 home runs and 1311 runs batted in and his career batting average was 310.

During his career the captain appeared in fourteen all star games as a member of the yankees according to an article"  http://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/yankees/derek-jeter/derek-jeter-s-all-star-game-history-1.8315482. " he appeared in fourteen all star games and also won five world series.

He was my favorite Yankees player. When he retired in 2014, I thought to myself who is going to replace the great Derek Jeter on the diamond? Didi Gregorious is hitting 419 and in his last eight games he has hit two home runs and had eleven runs batted in. That is pretty good for a player trying to keep the greatness going that the captain started!
