The Importance Of The Point Guard

In basketball everyone has a role but there is one  player that makes all the difference  . Do you know which player that is? The point guard he creates the flow of the game and gets his teammates involved and if he has the opportunity he will get involved as well. Some point guards like to take the big shots when the game is on the line . For example Tyus Jones when he took the shot to win in Charlottesville against Virginia. How about his big game against Carolina ?

It's not just college basketball that has to  have a floor general the professional league has to  have them as well. Lets take a look  at some of the  great point guards in  the NBA past and present.

Magic Johnson- Los Angeles Lakers 1979-1991-1995-1996.

He was three time MVP 1986-87 , 19988-89 , 1989-1990 and he was also a twelve time all star and inducted in to the halla fame . He averaged 19.5 points per game 7.2 rebounds per game and 11.2 assists per game.

Jason Kidd who played in league for nineteen years for a couple different teams . Dallas Mavericks 1994-2006  and 2008-2012.

He also was a member of the Phoenix Suns from 1996-2001 New Jersey Nets -2001-2008 and 20012-13 with the New York Knicks. Kidd was a ten time all star , six time NBA selection , nine time d- league selection and he was co rookie of the year in 1994-95. He also won a championship with the Dallas Mavericks in 2011 . He currently is the head coach of the Milwalkee Bucks.

 Stephen Curry who currently is a member of the  Golden State Warriors- He was named MVP in 2014-15 while also being a two time all star selection . 21.6 points per game 4.2 rebounds per game , 6.9 assists per game and according to this article he is the best shooter to ever play the game. Do you think that is an understatement? 

Chris Paul who is  currently a member  of the Los Angeles Clippers, he  also played for the New Orleans Hornets now named  the Pelicans .(2003-2011) He was an eight time all-star , seven time NBA selection and he was named rookie of the year in 2005-2006. He averages 14.3 points per game 3.0 rebounds per game and 8.5 assists per game.
