NC State, Oklahoma State Are Matching Up Tonight Because Both Teams Are Concluding The Basketball Hall Of Fame Showcase In Uncasville Connecticut

NC State tipped off their portion of the event on Tuesday night with a 79-65 win over Central Connecticut!

In their 79-65 win over Central Connecticut NC State redshirt sophomore guard Dereon Seabron reset his career-high for the third consecutive game as he posted 24 points on 8-of-12 shooting. The Norfolk, Va., native who was named ACC Player of the Week on Monday also shot 8-for-10 from the foul line and finished one rebound shy of a double-double.

Seabron scored 14 of his 23 points in the second half as the Pack outscored the Blue Devils, 47-32, in the final 20 minutes.

NC State hit a season-high 11 three-pointers in the game. The Pack shot 47.8 percent from long-range.

After jumping out to a 14-7 lead, four and half minutes into the game, NC State went over eight minutes without a basket and went into the halftime break trailing, 33-32.

In the second half, NC State scored on its first four possessions of the half to go back in front. After Central Connecticut closed within 54-53 with under 10 minutes to play, the Pack went on a 13-0 run to put the game away.

After shooting just 33.3 percent from the field in the first half, NC State rebounded to shoot 56.7 percent in the second half.

Joining Seabron in double figures was freshman Terquavion Smith with 11 points and sophomore Cam Hayes with 10.

True freshman Breon Pass finished with seven points, the highest point total of his young career while fellow true freshman Ernest Ross grabbed a season-best six rebounds.

Oklahoma State also tipped off their portion of the event on Tuesday but unlike NC State Oklahoma State was playing UMass Lowell and won handily by a score of 80-58!

The win pushed the Cowboys to 3-1 on the season while the Riverhawks suffered their first loss of the season to fall to 2-1.

OSU was able to jump on UMass Lowell early in the game thanks to a 16-3 lead before the Cowboys were able to put together a 6-0 run down the stretch to take a 36-26 lead into halftime.

In the second half, OSU was able to extend its lead during a stretch where it converted on 7-of-9 shots. During that span, Keylan Boone stepped up for OSU by scoring eight-straight points to give the Orange and Black a 17-point advantage.

Riding the run, Oklahoma State continued strong play down the stretch on its way to the 22-point win.

Bryce Thompson led the way for the Cowboys, who had five plays in double digits, with a career-high tying 14 points. Moussa Cisse made his impact by adding his second double-double of the season.
