As NC State, Florida State Are Facing, Opposing Each Other Tonight In Raleigh They're Looking To Get Back In Win Column As They Lost Previous Games To Clemson, Wake Forest!

As NC State, Florida State are facing, opposing each other tonight in North Carolina’s state capital they’re looking to get back in the win column as they lost previous games to Clemson, Wake Forest!

NC State who is a member of the Atlantic Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference comes into the game with a record of 4-1 0-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference and is sixth in the division behind Boston College is ranked 14th in this weeks AP Top 25 though, they lost 30-20 to Clemson who is 5th in this weeks AP Top 25 is first in the Atlantic Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference because last Saturday in Clemson South Carolina they lost 30-20 because started on defense, holding Clemson to a field goal on its opening possession. After Clemson reached the Pack's 3-yard line, NC State did not allow another yard on the drive, stuffing three rushing attempts before Tigers' kicker B.T. Potter converted a 20-yard field goal.

NC State also tacked on three points on its opening possession, driving 78 yards on 15 plays before Christopher Dunn split the uprights on a 20-yard field goal to make it 3-3 with 19 seconds remaining in the opening quarter. The Pack converted a fourth-and-1 on the drive when quarterback Devin Leary plunged forward for 2 yards on a quarterback sneak.

Clemson (5-0, 3-0 ACC) pulled ahead 6-3 when Potter drilled his second field goal of the night, converting a 46-yard attempt with 5:47 remaining in the half.

NC State grabbed its first lead of the night with less than two minutes remaining in the half when Leary connected with Cedd Seabrough for a 2-yard touchdown. The Leary-to-Seabrough connection capped off a nine-play, 75-yard drive that churned 3:56 off the clock.

The Tigers answered with their first touchdown to take a 13-10 lead entering the halftime break.

Second Half (Clemson 30-20)
After NC State's offense opened the half with three-and-out, Clemson extended its lead to 10 when DJ Uiagalelei found Jake Briningstool for a 7-yard touchdown to make it 20-10.

NC State trimmed Clemson's 10-point advantage to seven when Dunn nailed a season-long 49-yard field goal to cut it to 20-13 with 9:06 left in the third quarter.

After a pair of scoreless drives apiece, Clemson capitalized on an interception with a 44-yard field goal from Potter to make it 23-13 with 14:16 left in the fourth quarter.

Still facing a 23-13 deficit, the Wolfpack advanced to the Clemson 36-yard line with less than 10 minutes remaining. The Tigers, however, forced a stop when the Pack was unable to convert on 4th-and-13 from the Clemson 39-yard line.

Clemson scored its final touchdown of the game with a Uiagalelei 9-yard keeper with 3:04 remaining.

Like NC State, Florida State comes into the game with a record of 4-1 though, unlike NC State they aren’t ranked though, like NC State Florida State lost their previous game as they lost to Wake Forest last Saturday in Tallahassee Florida by a score of Wake Forest kicked a 27-yard field goal with 2:55 left to put the game out of reach as the the 22nd-ranked Demon Deacons churned out over 400 yards of total offense to hand No. 23 Florida State its first loss of the season 31-21 in Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday.

Wake quarterback Sam Hartman completed 22-of-34 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns with many coming on critical third downs. Justice Ellison gained 114 yards on 18 carries to lead a balanced Demon Deacon offensive attack.

Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis threw for three touchdowns and completed 23-of-35 passes in the loss. Treshaun Ward led all Seminole rushers with 87 yards on 13 carries.

Wake Forest unique offense gave FSU trouble all day particularly on crucial downs where Wake finished 10-of-18 on third downs.

Wake led 21-7 at the half and were up 28-7 in the third quarter. Despite outscoring them 14-10 in the second half, Florida State could never close the gap to less than the final 10 point margin.

Leading 21-7 as the second half began, Wake Forest took the opening drive and raced through the FSU defense on a 75-yard drive taking a 28-7 lead on a 12-yard touchdown run by Ellison.

FSU cut the lead to 28-13 on the next drive when Travis completed a 6-yard touchdown pass to Mycah Pittman with 5:14 left in the third quarter. The Noles’ went for two on the ensuing extra point but failed.

The Seminoles made it 28-21 with 9:32 left in the game when Travis hit wide receiver Johnny Wilson with a touchdown pass from the 4-yard line and then connected with tight end Markeston Douglas for the 2-point conversion.

FSU had another golden opportunity late in the game after a 44-yard punt return by Pittman set the Noles up at Wake’s 43 with 4:57 left in the game, but the possession resulted in a missed field goal.

Initially, it looked like Florida State might light up the scoreboard after taking the opening drive right down the field moving 83 yards on six plays and scoring on an 18-yard pass from Travis to Pittman with 12:26 left in the first quarter.

Wake Forest answered with an impressive 13-play, 80-yard drive of their own. They tied the score at seven with 4:25 left in the first quarter on Christian Turner’s 1-yard touchdown dive on fourth down.

The Demon Deacons took a 14-7 led early in the second quarter when quarterback Hartman escaped a collapsing pocket and found wide receiver A.T. Perry with a 4-yard touchdown pass. The score capped a 12-play, 90-yard drive for Wake.

Wake Forest set up with a short field on their next drive when Travis fumbled after a short gain on the Seminoles’ first play of the drive. Taking over at the FSU 35, Wake scored on a 20-yard pass from Hartman to Donavan Green to take a 21-7 lead with 11:15 left in the half.

Florida State last possession of the half started on their own 26 with 3:54 left and it appeared the Seminoles were going to narrow the gap but came up empty when Ryan Fitzgerald missed on a 29-yard field goal attempt with :26 left.
