Why?

NC A&T Linebacker Jacob Roberts was the preseason all- conference pick and has six double figure tackle games in his career including a career best 16 against Keensaw State. Duke wide receiver Jordan Moore who also is a quarterback has thrived at receiver as he has a touchdown grab in each of the first two games.

Every ticket to the stadium was distributed as early as Monday, when the team's social media account tweeted "Looks like Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium is going to be pretty full this weekend" with a countdown of available tickets to zero. They announced in a follow-up tweet that the student section had also been expanded to respond to unprecedented demand in the modern era for undergraduates and graduates alike to attend the game.

Earlier in the week Duke defensive back Jaylen Stinson, Duke running back Jordan Waters interviewed about the sell out Brooks Field @Wallace Wade Stadium when Duke host NC A&T Saturday! What were thoughts on sell out of Brooks Field @Wallace Wade Stadium? Jaylen Stinson had this to say! It's a lot,"We've probably never had a sold out stadium. We're trying to keep the same routine and keep building, staying consistent."

Jordan Waters had this to say!

"We've got a really good North Carolina A&T program coming in here. Anytime we get a chance to play an in-state program, that creates a little bit more buzz and a little bit more atmosphere. We're certainly excited to host them this week. Coach [Sam] Washington has done a really good job with that program in the last few years. Got a lot of respect for what we see on film. They're very fast, very athletic team. Defensively, they're very similar to what we saw last week, and Coach Washington has been a defensive guy. You know, they are a four-down front. They're going to really make it hard for you to run the football. They're going to pack numbers into the box, so we're going to have to really do a good job with our run schemes and creating movement up front. Offensively they spread you out. They've got really good athletes. They've got a really talented running back. They've kind of been bouncing around two quarterbacks so far to this year, so it'll be interesting to see kind of where they settle on that coming into our game. Last year they took the opening drive and went 20 plays right down the field to take a 7-0 lead on us, so we've got a lot of respect for this team. Our focus is on the now and it's on this game and making sure that we get better every day and come out and play this week to our standard. That's our goal of the week and where we're trying to go."

Duke, NC A& T have met before as they met last season on the gridiron in Durham where Duke won 45-17 under then Head Coach David Cutcliffe who parted ways Duke’s Director of Athletics Nina King after Duke finished of 3-9 0-8 in the Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference where NC A& T lost. In Duke’s 45-17 win over NC A&T A three-touchdown performance by senior Mataeo Durant and two rushing scores by graduate student Gunnar Holmberg helped propel Duke past North Carolina A&T. NC A& T lost 17-45 as Duke's fast pace, no-huddle offense kept the commonly tenacious A&T pass rush at a distance on Friday night. It allowed quarterback Gunnar Holmberg to be effective on third down, and the Blue Devils were able to run the ball effectively in the red zone.
